I'm away for 5 minutes virtual window shopping online and you two start planning bigger and crazier ideas!

I will grow every variety I have which is 14 thanks to VC's incredible generosity .
More than happy to grow in the same way and compare notes and anything else I've not thought of. But I'll not be attempting to harvest every month. I'm a fair weather gardener, southern softy living up north, just blooming lazy ( take your pick ). I don't grow stuff in winter.

So I second the need for ground rules. For the lunacy I've got my self involved in

    What do you need Deano?

    Brussel sprout Montgomery.
    Brussel sprout Brest f1.
    Brussel sprout early half tall
    Brussels sprouts Seven hills
    Brussels sprouts Brigitte f1
    Brussels sprouts Evesham special
    Brussels sprouts Long Island emproved
    Brussels sprouts Fillbasket
    Brussels sprouts Darkmar 21
    Brussels sprouts Revenge f1
    Brussels sprouts Cascade f1
    Brussels sprouts Red ball
    Brussels sprouts Bedford- winter harvest
    Brussels sprouts Trafalgar f1

I should be able to share most of these.

Well, I'm intrigued. ¡Why not stir-fried in summer? Maybe one of the early varieties would be OK if sown very, very early. Like now!

I'm thinking sprout coleslaw, young sweet, nutty, raw sprouts shredded into ummm other stuff. It might be a lot fresher tasting than a cabbage.

A GRANDMOTHER in Lancashire has begun boiling the vegetables for her Christmas dinner.

84-year-old Blackburn resident Susan Traherne prepared the sprouts and cabbage last night so she could get them boiling first thing this morning.

Confirming that the saucepan was now simmering, she said: “There is a simple rule with veg which I learned in domestic science class during the war – two days boiling per ounce, plus an extra week to be on the safe side.

“If you cannot eat them without putting your teeth in, then they are raw as far as I am concerned.

Mrs Traherne explained that after the vegetables had been cooking for 12 days she would drain off some of the water to add to her gravy.

She said: “I will then thicken the gravy with cornflour until it is solid enough to be sliced with a bread knife.”

Right! My thoughts are we all three grow the 14 variety's on SP's list!

SP! If you could spare 2 or 3 seeds of each that would be lovely, if not I will traipse the web and sourse my own, but if you can accommodate what do you want from me regarding stamps, envelopes etc?

                Just let me know!

                Ground rules!

Well there ain't any! The gloves are off! ..........

Think I can safely say we are all experienced growers, and live in very different areas of the country, so weather conditions etc will predict to all three of us when safe to sow, plant out etc.

SP, please let me know if you can accommodate the earlier request, if not, not a problem!

                Let the competion begin!

SP! Your seeds have arrived, so just wanna say "Thank You"!

Oh! And if that is sharing a few, I hate to think how many seeds VC sent you originally!

But once again "Thank You" both very kindly!
