Sweet potato crop.

Hi all.

I've just dug up this years experiment. I planted one sweet potato slip and I'm pretty pleased with the yield. My questions are:

Some of the tubers snapped when I dug them up, will they scan over or will those not store well now?

You can see from the photo that I have quite a few smaller roots, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in diameter. Can these be kept and used next year to produce slips? They're a bit small to warrant the cook pot.

Wow, i know nothing about sweet potato whatsoever but that looks like a tidy yield indeed.

I'd eat the snapped ones straight away. My experience is that sweet potatoes seem to develop mould very readily.

Thanks Snoop. Curing might be a pain. Warm and humid, the polytunnel? We're getting regular frost at night here now, will that damage them?

Have you asked your neighbours what they do? Certainly, your sweet potatoes won't appreciate frost.
