    A one ton bag !!!

I don't know if pigeon poo is any different to other bird poo, because the Legend Bob Flowerdew swears by the benefits of bird poo in the soil - full of nutrients apparently.

Likely to be similar to chicken poo I would think - strong stuff so I wouldn't put it fresh onto growing plants. Good in compost though.

Wonderful stuff, lucky you! and you could spread it now, for the worms to take down for you. Ready for planting by Spring - couldn't be better

On that, although I've got a few bird feeders about the garden - for the more 'courageous' birds, I scatter some suet pellets over the beds. The birds freely deposit their waste on them.

This is not wise for beds with peas/brassicas, etc. though.

Congratulations! May there by many more such bags winging their way to you!

Is it well rotted already or straight from the pigeon loft?

Either way, I agree with Thelma. Spread it about now and let nature do its work for you.

Snoop Puss it's fairly fresh with loads of feathers which are supposed to be good for the soil and I can have as much as I want ! so i'll spread it on the soil and cover it over with card board and woodchips and
use some to mix with the compost that's in my dalecks .atb Dal.

Sounds brilliant, Dalrimple. Feathers might take nitrogen from the soil as they break down, much as wood does. But they'll release it back later. So, spreading now is a good idea. You'll have some fantastic compost from your daleks too.

                  Congratulations!
