AS You asked.......this is my Light 'Set up'/ Grow box.
Constructed from an old/Redundant pine blanket box, was 4 foot x 2 foot x 1.5 foot high, cut in half height wise, this forms the center section housing the propagator.(ie 4x2 x 9'' deep)
Lined with Poly sheet and 1'' insulation board ex skips.
1'' of sharp sand in bottom, a 7 mtr /50watt reptile heater cable(thermostat controlled Ex Amzn) . laid and another 1'' of sand on top.
2'' x 1'' wooden legs to 4 corners lifting it skyward to take another storey ( 2 tiers upward)
3mm ply/hardboard (ex skips) to line sides and back (below and above ).
From floor to top of cabinet is approcx 6'.
Split 50/50 top and bottom cabinets.
The whole interior is lined with reflective Mylay insulated and foil coated bubble wrap(ex ALDI £6.99 per roll).
I added a shelf midway to both top and bottom cabinets, so giving me 20 full size seed tray capacity , plus a few 3'' pots.
The top cabinet ,top shelf is Lit by 2x T5 x twin lights, it gets too hot ......ie 35C....so I have installed a cheap bathroom fan linked to a thermostat to remove excess heat.
Above propogator is 2x Led twin lights
The bottom cabinet is un heated and with 2x 3' single lamp lights on gives a temperature of 10/15 degrees and adequate light , just about spot on Im looking for .
Primarily Im looking to start Onions and Chillies from seed in the propogator and then place under sufficient light ,without too much heat to grow on until outside light and heat is available
As an interim they may have to go under Cloches ?.
So far so good ,see pics.
I appreciate this might be OTT for some ,but as I am 'In my Dotage' it keeps me from Mischief',

I appreciate its NOT for nothing , but compared to a comparative Grow Tent and all, its pretty competitive...!!
and , conceitedly, I reckon Ive got a better set up and more capacity for the £ and when Im not growing plants I can take out the middle shelves and use it for 'Homebrew'.
