My long - awaited giant psb plants are toppling! I have networks of canes dug in and attempting to support them but they're all leaning rather steeply.. It's been pretty windy, the plants themselves are (or were, at least) strong.. Any hot tips out there? They're well over a metre tall and looking healthy. They've been in since last winter so was expecting a good crop early 2018!

I use these, pushed in about 50cm deep, and large cable ties:

When it happened to mine I just tried to stop the stem from touching the ground because I thought it might rot when wet or something. Then they did what they want. They grew across the path & lawn,it was difficult staking them the size & weight of them,no way would they grow upright, the actual broccoli was all upright so it didn't matter about the laying down plant, photos show the plants in a state but quite happily growing & producing.

Yep, mine toppled last winter, they just keep growing. They basically act as if you'd layed them like you would making a hedge. When upright the top most buds produce first then you chop em off and the next down sprout up faster etc. When they fall over its the same, those nearest the top come on first then down the plant, with the buds pointing upwards more likely to come on first.
