Best place to buy new seeds

Premier seeds direct and Just seed off ebay are what i use. Not had any problems.

I'm very surprised that no one has set up in opposition to Moreveg as they are the only ones doing small quantities of seed cheaply.
I should maybe buy some big packs of seed, split them up into small portions and undercut them!

How does 49p a packet sound!

Have seen one or two others. The one I tried for the slightly different peppers I wanted did small amounts but they had the odd idea of charge for postage but you still had to get above a given value of seeds.

Another one was a more specialist seed supplier.

Moreveg seemed to start as a small "cottage" business but have grown a little and the selection is good and amounts and cost fair. I learnt some time back that being able to order and just get the things is worth an extra 20p or so.

Seem well organised. If someone else went into competetion then the market is split across 2 and likely insufficent turnover then for one or both to survive. Over the last 5 or 6 years I have seen 5 or 6 astronomy retailer go out of business. There is not always the trade to cover everyone.

Used to purchase from Seeds of Distinction, but they supplied sort of 2000 carrot seeds and their selection dropped. Or at least a couple of the ones I tended to buy disappeared.

One astro retailer has woken up to a range of accessories that were popular and always sold by an ebay trader - one person but good - and as they have jumped on the band wagon I suspect the original will pack it in soon. Little annoying. So one less again.

Would like to know how MV measure out some of the fine seeds, some seem too small to consider counting and too lightweight to weigh. Small scoop maybe? As in 200 seeds equals one of the really, really tiny scoops.

Avoid trendy packeting like the David Wong range. Grossly overpriced and overhyped.

Just following up with this to update you.

I just got a load of seed including onion and shallot sets and potato from the RHS shop. Really good value on what I bought.

I've just placed my order through Moreveg. Since I'm doing SFG, I have limited space and need small numbers of seeds. Will see what comes through the post!
