I'll be starting chinenses and rocotos around Christmas / New Year. Baccatums probably mid-January and annuums probably February.

I'm having trouble narrowing my list down but I am definitely growing the seeds from ChilliWilly70's pods as my superhots, some exciting seeds Chris11 is going to send me, and lots of baccatums as they seem to best suit the climate here without a greenhouse.

A couple of the baccatums are F2 from crosses made by a baccatum specialist. Obviously at F2 they could be extremely variable but I haven't room to grow lots of plants of each cross so I'll just hope to get lucky. Aji Guyana sounds wonderful so I'm hoping to grow that too.

Not many repeats from last year (although I'm trying to overwinter quite a few plants) but the Rocoto La Paz Rojo from the seed circle was absolutely brilliant this year so that might be an exception. Might also grow the Ivory Coast peppers again, especially IC2 as it was bushier and more prolific than IC1.

I've never grown Lemon Drop nor Dorset Naga so I'm thinking 2019 might be the year to rectify that.

Sea spring seeds do collections of habs, super hots, spicy & vegetable/ culinary types. You can't go far wrong with sea Spring.
Or this company I've recently discovered. They seem to be a fairly new company so I don't know anything about them. But I like what I see. They do mixed pack real pot luck as to what's in it. I'm quite tempted myself!

              Good spot SP.

It may be tempting..... But 100 from the list of 134 is going to give you quite a headache identifying them. From my "Chris11 Challenge" experience... working out the 13 varieties from 50 seeds was bad enough. Some very similar in look, and only the taste test when ripe gave the final ID.

If I were to go down this route, it would be wedding bags at dawn and pictures all the way - just to ensure I could grow on any that I truly enjoyed.

                  • Many of you may be aware that I have been writing a Blog on my experience growing a selection of chilli seeds this year called the "Chris11 Challenge". The results should have been published in September, but didn't quite get round to it and I didn't have the definitive list at the time. SP identified a packet of 100 seeds on https://redhotpepperpatch.com/ I was reminded this was still outstanding.

If interested - here is the link

I won one of their collections in a competition last year. Then fingers slipped on keyboard and I gave them the wrong house number. I went round to the other house but they denied receiving it.

                        • To be fair the house was up for sale and according to local gossip it's because of an acrimonious divorce. When I went and knocked only the teenage daughter was home, she said she hadn't seen anything like that (and went and checked their post box - it's a posh house with a post box at the gate). I told her where I lived and asked if they could let me know if it turned up, she said she would, but I didn't feel as if I could go round there again.
