Not a huge selection this year - I was busy after Christmas and everything went pear shaped ....but I did do the seedling swap with SP so that helped....off the top of my head I have a Dorset Naga, red manzano, the TScorpion, an orange, chocolate and a pink hab, Nigel's outdoor, a lemon drop, la Paz , a couple of cayennes and a few others I can't think of

That looks like a pretty good selection to me. Congrats on getting the TS to flower!

SP your poddage is amazing. Keep the chilli porn coming; I love looking at them.

Ms-T the black Hungarian looks superb.

Eeek! It was a little windy last night. All was zipped up but the greenhouse must've been shaking, as the golden ghost fell of the staging and decapitated the Hungarian hot wax. It was one of my fastest growers and I'd only put it in its final container yesterday. Now it’s only 3 inches high.

Aargh!!! I hope it grows back from the base for you.

Got back from holiday at the weekend and most things have survived pretty well and even thrived on the neglect. The main ones that suffered were the ones outdoors but still in pop bottles, as the wind blew them over then the water ran out from the reservoir so they dried out. They have revived a bit following a good soak but have dropped leaves and look a bit sick. The slugs and snails have had at them too.

I've got pods set on quite a lot of my 2018 chinenses now, including about a dozen on the Nagabrain Chocolate - yikes! I'm looking forward to my other half tasting that one (he says he's looking forward to me tasting it - like that's ever going to happen!) Will try to post pod pics soon.

As promised, here's my Nagabrain Chocolate, star of the show at present:



Some of the pods are turning purple on the shoulders but it's too early for them to be ripening so I think it must be "sun burn" from the grow lights (yes, these are still under lights at the moment.)

They also look hot!! That has nothing to do with sun burnt shoulders. They're going to blow your head off!!

I've found 2 ripe cayenne, golden cayenne is very nearly and a thunder mountain longhorn is starting to turn. It's all very exciting.

First flowers yesterday on some of the Jalapenos. Finally some progress. Gave them a little helping hand with a paint brush but really there isn't a need when they are outside. There will be plenty of insects to pollinate naturally.
The last few weeks have seen a big burst of growth but still no plant more than 30 or 40 cm's. The hotter ones are probably only about 10 cm even though they are fairly bushy so they probably wont get their final pot for a while yet.
All in all its looking good. The beginning of September is when I expected to get the main crop but I'll be picking chillis until the cold kills them.

Have you got your super hots outdoors too?

They are unfortunately. After taking over a room from January to May with propagator, grow lights and dozens of pots I think I've used up all my goodwill :-). They are in a sheltered south facing garden so not too exposed. There just may not be enough heat to bring on the super hots to get some decent sized chillis.

My main goal is to have enough chillis for cooking for the next year and I will get that from the Jalapenos, various Cayenne's, Thai Hot Dragon and Ring of fire as there are probably 20+ plants here. I probably won't have enough to dry for Chilli oil so hopefully will get away somewhere hot and buy a big bag later in the year.
I have a few Devils Tongue, Lemon Drop and Ghost peppers to try something different. Red, Orange, Peach and Chocolate Habs for a bit of heat but they can be hit and miss. Finally a couple of Bhut Jolokias and a Trinidad Scorpion to try and grow super hots.
The next two months will be what the fun is. Coming home after work to check for pods, then killing greenfly and hunting slugs.
