Things to sow or do now

There are lots of suggestions in newspapers, magazines, books, TV programmes, websites and so on for things to do this week or month.
Thought it might be an idea to post these here - but without naming the source - as some of them may come from a competitor

It may give us ideas of things to do and would be interesting to see whether all agree

I've just seen:-

Veg seeds to sow in December
Broad beans
Onion seeds
Garlic bulbs
Winter lettuce
Lamb's lettuce
Mustard greens
Microgreens

What have you spotted?

As much as I would like to sow some veg. apart from the garlic and possibly broad beans the remainder requires heating, which would make them quite costly

No they don't, rary! Microgreens indoors on your window sill and lettuce and mustard in the unheated GH. That's what I do anyway

I spend a large amount of my gardening time in December planning what is going where and when I am going to sow or plant it.

One thing I do quite a bit of at this time of year is sprouting seeds. I've got beansprouts nearly ready and started some alfalfa today.

You can sow peas for pea shoots in December.

If I try growing anything on the windowsill I am told I make the place look untidy. Just thinking now, is it the plants growing, or me standing at the window that causes her to say that? But I actually sowed some lettuce a couple of weeks ago but I think the -4 in the greenhouse will have stopped them

I'm not going to sow anything yet but I am going to prune my grape vines.

I will be cutting back my autumn raspberry's to ground level when I get chance over Christmas or in the new year.
I will also be tidying up my strawberries getting rid of dead leaves and pulling/cutting them back to be spaced out again.
Going to try and get a load of manure as well to spread/dress/mulch where my spuds and greens are going to go and to dig loads in where a couple of outside beds for some outdoor pumpkins are going.
The grounds either frozen or like today wet with it raining to do much at the moment.
I must sort out my greenhouse at home as well and give it a good tidy.

I need to check my hyacinths in the shed,they might have uprooted themselves in this weather,check any autumn planted trees & plants,gently firm them back in if they've risen a bit.
