                  • Can I turn the clock BACK about 10 weeks or so please? SO FAR BEHIND!!!!!!

Just found a bag under the bed with potatoes in!!!! Five each of Vivaldi, Rooster and Jazzy - all with long sprouts on them. Will put them in the ground and see what happens - they'll either grow or they'll not!

Also got a few other veg seeds to sow....beans, peas, squash (told you I was behind!)
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

                    • I have things really late, too. Planted some courgette seeds, lettuce, spinach for baby leaves and really want to try to get some beans in.

Have I left it too late for runners or climbing beans do you reckon?

                      • You should be OK with beans until July. Give them a go!
I'm sure I've read somewhere, that, even if you already have beans, its worth doing a 2nd sowing in July to extend the season.

                        • I sowed dwarf french beans and egyptian beetroot and they were up within 5 days. I've never known anything so quick, my boltardy have been up 3 weeks and still little slivers.
Next up is bee friendly flower seeds and a few herbs to get into the propagator. Never done herbs before.

                              • After a total fail with my cell sown dwarf French beans, I decided on one last ditch attempt - I took two half-used, old packets of seed (Delinel and Stanley), mixed them up, threw them on a spare patch of ground and raked them in. Gave them a thorough soaking and we'll see what, if anything, happens. I felt like I was channelling VC just for a moment.
