Sowed spinach outside (Gigante D'Inverno, hardy winter variety) plus lettuce and beetroot indoors - these will eventually be planted in a hotbed at my friend's.

I started my early peas yesterday in fibre pots on a heated propagator - hopefully I'll get better germination than I did last year and I'll plant 'em out (pots and all) once the majority have popped up their heads.
I also bunged my spuds in - in 40 litre tubs in the greenhouse. Hopefully it won't prove to be too early but the shoots were suitably long so I didn't want to leave them much longer. At least they have some protection should we get any frosts. When I need the g/h for other stuff, the tubs can be moved outside.

Think I’m a bit behind you all.

He he, I am doing a VC

District Nurse will cope with being sown a little early, but it was an odd wig wam that I thought I would chance extra early as there is nothing to lose from it but great if they come through.

Well, six days later and I have lots of little green things standing up and quite a few curved ones poking through ready to stand up - a far better proportion than I got outside last year and I doubt they've finished yet.

Curiously, I also have two white things not quite standing up off the surface - I can only assume that these are actually roots and that some of my pea seeds were Australian ;-)
