    Baby salad Californian mix
Lettuce salad bowl red & green
    Peas for shoots
    4 varieties of radish.
some of the radish will be left to go to seed. Just read in a gardening mag that immature green seed pods are good in salad "deliciously succulent & mildly spicy". Got to give that a go.

I resowed my red-veined sorrel as I only had two seeds germinate from my last attempt. I think I kept the soil too wet (over-compensating for last year when I killed half my seedlings by letting them dry out).

I was going to resow my winter lettuce mix (originally sowed very optimistically in a container outdoors 33 days ago) but I brought the container indoors and there are actually some seedlings just emerging. It is possible they could be weeds as I think I used repurposed compost, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I'll be succession sowing anyway, so I'll sow some more in a week or two and hopefully by then, it will be clearer if these are what they are supposed to be!

I have pulled out the flower seeds that got decimated at seedling stage last year (didn't get a single flower). Have indoor sown (in modules/loo rolls):

            Pansies
            Sunflowers
            Gazanias
            Sweet peas (two varieties)

Not too bothered if none of them come up, but it seemed a shame not to give them a try.

                    Spent the afternoon sowing seeds.
Sowed Dahlia PomPom and Yankee Doodle.
Sowed my own dahlia seeds saved from last year.
                    Sowed spring onions White Lisbon..
All in all a good afternoon.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                            • First tomato seeds gone in today.

Bit later than usual, but chilli seeds have been delayed by cold weather so I've been waiting for room in propagator.
