  • Overwintering onions going "soft"

Seasons greetings! I went and checked my onions "Radar" and "Electric" today. They all look wonderfully well, stalks in excess of 6" on most (if not more). The sets however look very "soft". I believe that this is part of the natural process, whereby the set is the food source and the bulb grows later in Spring. Please correct me if I am wrong, or do I have nothing to worry about. Many thanks.

PS, with all the frost here in Hampshire, the garlic look fantastic!
