        • Last night (my first trip to the plot in a week, although the lovely Carol spent 5 hours there wednesday the lucky girl) We picked all the blackcurrents, a few more strawberries, forked out the overwintered onion sets and garlic which were laid out to dry. Picked two cauliflowers and I lifted the first of my early spuds. They were Arron Pilot and only went in 14/4 so 10 weeks, they have done well with some big tubers as well as many smaller. The shape is a little uneven but very pleased. I should heve new potatoes now for two or three months before the main crop are ready. I think I'll lift the main crop sooner rather than later after last years slug damage.

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
