    • ^^ On my site, squirrels will take whole rows of beetroot in Autumn, leaving the tops neatly behind - we all thought it was a thieving plotholder until someone witnessed it!

            • Pears, I have two trees, comice and conference that I had to brush pollinate.
I went outside and my springer was eating a comice that had fallen so checked the tree and all came away with a touch so loads to process, delicious to eat and the dog goes out looking for more.
The conference has some way to go.

That’s 10oz bigger than I’ve ever managed to grow

                          • 30kg apples, more than half of which are in the ‘won’t store’ category. Enjoyed apple crumble for tea, apple ginger jam coming gently to the boil , and first batch of apple puree for sterilising in jars.
                            Just another 16kg to go

                              • cabbage, the last of the calabrese, french beans, cauges, chillies, toms and aubergines. All went into a veg chilli that was almost to big for my biggest cooking pot!
