            • Talking nonsense on here and making chilli sauce. As it's been hissing down all day. Didn't even bother uncovering anything in the tunnels and had the fire going all day.

                • * Mowed the lawn (first time this year, and I missed the last few mows last year, so it was pretty hard going - relieved to have got that out of the way)
                  * Watered all my seedlings that are inside
                  * Mixed up lots of compost (combining old with my limited supply of new and a generous sprinkling of growmore)
                  * Potted on my cabbages
                  * Put lots of copper tape on lots of pots
                  * Some general tidying up outdoors
                  * Gathered and washed some dandelion leaves for eating tonight
                  * Shifted some seedlings outside to do some hardening off. It's probably a bit early looking at the weather this coming week, but I work full-time and it's difficult to do it gently. I'll probably bring them just inside the backdoor tonight and then try and get up early enough to shove them outside in the morning (which will be hit and miss as I am really not a morning person). The area by the backdoor gets hit by morning sun but rapidly shifts to shade. They'll be better off in there than in the sun room anyway!
                  * Fed my worms and fished the few intrepid explorers amongst them out of the sump. My first tray is getting really heavy but they are eating at such a rate and causing the level to keep dropping that it's going to be a while yet before it is completely full.
                  * Had an ice lolly while sitting outside in the sun.
                  * Possibly burned the back of my neck despite wearing a hat.
                  * Watched the ants scurrying in and out of holes in the garden wall.

I really need to water in my slug killing nematodes, but ideally I should do that after it rains and it only drizzled a tiny bit at lunchtime. They are in the fridge. I'll probably water them in next time I am watering all the outdoor pots anyway (tomorrow or Tuesday). I also need to sow my cucumbers today. Fortunately, potting on the cabbage plugs I bought from Lidl has freed up some suitable modules to sow in!

Has anybody else's housework gone backwards during this lovely weather? My house looks terrible and I'm too shattered after all the gardening to do much about it this evening!

                  • Overseeded the lawn and fertilised it. Watered it twice. Now the waiting game begins.

Ordered slug nematodes. Getting mixed messages on whether we need to completely remove our Strulch mulch before applying. The website I bought them from says I do. Another says they can be washed through mulch as long as they are well watered. I might just make some holes with a fork first. But that’s a job for another day.

Thinned my rocket, perpetual spinach and chard seedlings to one per cell.

                      • Moved my tomatoes on to bigger pots today. Couldn't bring myself to pinch off the weak ones so now I have twice as many tomato plants as I originally planned

                        • Managed to get ready quickly enough this morning to rapidly fling lots of plants/seedlings needing hardening off out the back door. And then managed to get away from work on time so I could hit Wilkinson's on the way home and buy some more pots (and an obelisk to grow sweet peas up).

Just need to get the oomph up to move the plants back inside now sunset and sub 10 degrees C temps are looming.

                          • A bit of pricking out (that didn't get done yesterday).
Some plants had a couple of hours out side hardening off.
                            Ridged up all the potatoes.
Sold my first plants of the season

                            • Filled a few pots and watered ready for tomorrow.
Put mixed herbs into their final pot.
                              Watered a few things
Lots of checking for new germination and chatting with the new arrivals.
Just lots of pottering about. Achieving very little.
