Got and hour and a Qtr Sunday morning (all a bit rushed again). So I sideshoot and twist on the string the cordon tomatoes and staked/tied to canes the bush grown tomatoes. Replaced the net over some brassicas which were getting too tall for the quick fix net I put on a few weeks ago. turned the lifted onions/garlic to sun the other side. Watered anything looking dry and the seedlings/pots. Placed some bottles and flappy bits on canes to stop the birds feeding on the bugs in my lovey thick mulch and pulling the small onions out of the ground.

The Privett Pixie dropped off a couple of bags of hedge clippings.
Didn't get down to the plot today but went out to a garden centre. First sign you see is "Minced beef 2 kilo £10", walked past the household ornaments, newly decorate area for cushions and sofa throws, past the toys, clothes and jewellery departments and found the gardening bit.
Got some courgettes another Cucumber and some oregano.
Dropped into another on the way home and picked up another couple more sweet potato (white this time as I have the orange and red).
Just got back and was quickly followed by the Compost Fairy dropping off 10 bags of grass cuttings.
I would like to point out that the Privett Pixie and the Compost Fairy are two separate entities.
Composting and Mulching day tomorrow.Last edited by Jay-ell; 25-06-2018, 06:28 PM.

Just upturned the last of the three cornered Leeks out of the pots in the back garden and harvested the bulbs.
Quite a few sweet tasting bulbs to be used in stews, unfortunately only enough for a couple of dishes and still have some to plant in August.
Three cornered Leeks are listed as an invasive species but I never have enough bulbs to last long.
I wonder if I forego a harvest this year and sowed them all in the ground at the allotment how long it would be till I heard a cry of exclamation from Wales?

Weeded the rockery which was overrun by bindweed and brambles. Found the pinks so took a couple of cuttings to give them a chance elsewhere.
Watered the GHs twice.
Made 4 lbs of strawberry jam.
Did some weeding in the shade as I was melting.
Looked to see how many courgettes were ready. Since I had 5 to eat tonight, I didn't pick any more. They can be tomorrow's little treat.

Mowing and used the clippings to top up spud bags.
Strimming.
I've finished pollinating chillies ( for a couple of weeks ).
Finally gave in and composted all the spare melon, tomato & aubergine plants. Couldn't come up with any bright ideas where to put them and they were starting to look a little ropey.
