Took the 10 bags of grass and 2 bags of hedge trimmings - boy, the aroma in the car has high.
As I hadn't weeded the potato bed since I planted it I went to weed that first.
30 seconds later both weeds were out.
Topped up the grass mulch on the potato bed, takes a little time pack handfuls of grass between the plants but saves loads on weeding. The soil under the old mulch was still moist and loose.
Watered the sweet potato bed.
Sheet mulched sweet potato using free newspaper I pick up going to/from work.
Watered the sweet potato bed.
Put another 4 gags of grass as a mulch onto the sweet potato's
Watered the sweet potato bed.
The sweet potato bed should now have enough moisture for a few days and hopefully keep the weeds down for a while until the plants have enough mass to subdue them themselves.
Picked a few strawberries.
Ate an equal number of strawberries.
Left my mother picking strawberries whilst I went and cut down the comfrey and pack it into a comfrey bucket.
Heard a squawk, went round the corner and there was a pair of legs sticking in the air.
Picked mother out of strawberry bed. She had overstretched reaching for a big fat red strawberry. There was a rhubarb leaf in the way on the path the other side of the bed.
She was OK after I lifted her out and she went for a bit if a sit down. As a penance she had to spend the afternoon wearing strawberry coolie soaked trousers.
Still, there's 3 large tubs of strawberries.
Watered a few of the beds.
Got a nice Harvest of Broad beans. Figured if they came out I'd have space for the kale Khol rabi and chard. Didn't realise that there was still an undergrowth of volunteer oca in there. Still, planted around them and the earth chestnuts which are flowing nicely at the end of the bed (may get some black cumin harvested later on hopefully).
There was only a few of the raspberries ready for harvest - at least that's what I was told by mother who went and sat next to the raspberry beds for a rest.
Ate a couple of the raspberries that were ready.
Continued building big compost bin. It's swallowing loads if stuff, the pile of hedge cuttings and leaves I made in the autumn, all the weeds, the privet I took down today, the rest of the grass.
Still space to move the contents of a couple of the other compost bins into. Hopefully I'll be able to hot compost.

Had a bath, yeah, yeah, yeah, as the shower is busted.
On the bright side I thought all that water going to waste so up and down the stairs with the watering can and can say I have the sweetest smelling garden in the village.
I'ts had a 5 visits so far from the same bumble bee(I know it's the same one as we exchanged pleasantries). I've never seen a bumble bee on my tomato flowers so it must be the bath water attracting him/her.
