Don't worry about being laughed at, they mock me all the time. You get used to it
So the question is - do you have more money than sense, or more sense than money??

20 x 42mm in real money is 0.78 x 1.6 inches. I'd be ashamed to call those potatoes
That size is what my grandpa called "pig potatoes". In other words, all the little spuds off a haulm that are too small to bother with, boil them up with the swill and feed to the pig.

        Endless wonder.

That's what I know them as 'Pig tatties'!

I used to work with a tattie riddle at the farm which shuffled back and forward dropping the under size tatties in a pile for the pigs and the rest into bags.

Perhaps we should have a little competition - who can grow the most pig tatties on one plant. In other words, best failure.

I save mine then drop them in the fryer I tried to oven roast them but being of tiny they soon burnt.

sounds like there a 1 plant meal, and very expensive for what they are, wonder how many you would actually find,or get left in as host's for next year,ok if you only have a small space and grow 3 in a black bucket,a bit gimmicky,

LOL. Despite comments here I intend to try them but with a particular aim in mind. In our local Annual Show we have a separate category "Salad Potato" and it's one of the most difficult sections to enter - people tend to exhibit any old potato that's smallish and happens to look a bit like its mates whether it's a genuine "salad potato" (i.e. state after boiling) or not. Those potatoes advertised as "salad potatoes" tend to be problematic for showing, my eating favourite "Pink Fir Apple" being the most disastrous, novelty ones like "Salad Blue" not going down well with judges either. Ones like "Jazzy" and "Baby Gem" can look the part but tend to have an enormous variety of size. I usually try to use "Charlotte" but finding 3 lots of 4 identical ones of those is a challenge too! So if Vitesse are small but identical then perfect!
As a regular "new launch" seed potato they are expensive, however T&M seem keen to shift them (surprise, surprise) so alongside other purchases are offering 500g for £1.99 which will be more than enough. I'll grow them in bags and try to lift "Pig Tatties" 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
                        .

Thanks VC, only come on occasionally these days. Last year (i.e. 2017) I did exceptionally well because my 2 main competitors both suffered mishaps, LOL, one's son got married the day before the Show which meant his Dad never got all his entries in on time and the other suffered an attack by mice the week before the Show which nibbled a lot of his entries...... Mice NOT released by me though it was rumoured at the time!

Aha, my piggy seed-potatoes "Vizelle" were delivered today…. First impressions not very encouraging as they don't look much like the ad (photo 1) not round 'salad potatoes' but mostly varied pear-shapes and some not so small either (photo 2). 4 of them begin to look more the part shape-wise but are marked, pitted and with poor skins (photo 3) - the only way is up! Too early to start them off (exhibition will be in September) but can start the chitting process. I wish them well, not sure at this stage that they're going to do the trick, I have to hope the offspring are a tad better looking than the parents! It's a tough life as a humble potato!

I'm reminded of that witty card with a picture of Queen Elisabeth The First looking very cross talking to Sir Walter Raleigh and saying "I financed your adventures on the High Seas so you could bring me back something exotic and you brought me back a sodding potato!" Poor potato! Everything that's done to it - and it doesn't ask for much - leaves a lasting mark or has an effect.... So to get 3 lots of 4 identically near-perfect ones out of this bunch is the challenge! To be continued.... !
                                .
