  • How to deal with thrips

Well, these things have been the curse of my garden for the last few years. They basically bit small holes in almost everything, causing the leaves to distort and get disease. This is a particular problem with broad beans which severely limit the harvest. I see them often, even now in Winter. Tiny lime green miniature stick springing things.

is it possible to tackle them organically before the season starts ?

Not sure that there is anything to do before they "arrive" but there are various "controls" to be used. Have a look at

    https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=876

There are a few "organic" controls but given the amount of rain we are getting I am not sure that they will be "active" for very long.

Wish you the best of luck with this.

    Bill
