What would you grow on a wire netting fence?

Having moved my chooks to a new run, I have their old runs to grow veggies in.
Imagine you have 3 x 6' lengths of 8' high wire netting fence - not the sunniest of spots - with chicken manure enriched soil.
What would you grow on them? All ideas welcome.

peas,beans,squash,sweetpeas,natsturtions,anythingb thing that climbes,that you can eat or will benefit the polinators ext,ext.

Beans don't like to grow up netting as they can't twine - which is a shame as it was my first thought.
My ideas are stuck on peas, trombone squash and sweet peas. There must be more!!

Peas and beans. Nasturtiums and squashes in the sunnier bits.
Or something which needs protection from birds like fruit raspberry/loganberries/blackberries -assuming the chicken runs are spacious enough to get in to pick the fruits without getting scratched to bits

Am supprized at that,a few years ago we had a chicken wire pen,just for sweetcorn,i put a few left overs at 1 bit and they grew fine,another year i put squash and IT grew well,

When I've tried runners on wire netting they had to force themselves through the holes to climb while the peas just grab on with tendrils. Maybe I had "nutty" beans.

Have you grown them Ananke? I've tried countless times to grow my own slips, without success - and I'm too mean to buy them unless I know they'll succeed.

That's another thing I've never been able to grow. Basically, I'm useless at this growing lark.

They are prolific VC - you haven't tried hard enough!

How about gourds? Send them to me when you've grown them and I could try my hand at painting

I'd be quite happy to stick with peas (try purple podded if you fancy some pretty coloured flowers) and the Tromba squash, which always makes me smile

I tried it once VC. Suspended a store bought sweet potato in water and it sprouted really nice slips then I neglected it and it died So no experience growing it

Tromba does it for me too, Thelma. I still have one from last year, winking at me from the fruit bowl.
It'll definitely be those and Bijou MT, maybe some sugar snaps? Some tall peas?
Any small climbing squash recommended? All my squashes failed last year.

Nah! All those climbing F1 courgettes are rubbish! Tromba is the only one...
