    • No one say anything or look in Jeremy's direction................I think he might be growing proper fruit

      • Poor Barney Mac had the end of his big fruit damaged by wind (being banged against the outside rim of the pot) so I lifted it and made it rest inside the pot. Now his end is going brown.
The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.

        • ^Maybe there should be a prize for best post. So far, Sylvan above gets my vote!

          • The lowest of my pollinated fruits had got long enough to sit on the weed control fabric this morning. Where the storms had moved it about overnight it had got scraped, so I've brought it home for tea tonight.

Certainly wouldn't get any prizes but will taste good

I hope you don't think there are "prizes".

We're in it for the Glory....................and the laughs.

              • I was hoping it would get big enough to enter at our allotment show on the 11th August, it would have raised a laugh if nothing else - but never mind

Not prizes in the form of cups or rosettes, no. But the recognition of our fellow tromba growers, yes.

Out of interest, how many of us are members of the Nutters' Club?

I'm not a member, for obvious reasons.....................I'm perfectly normal .

And to be perfectly honest, I thought becoming a member was by invitation only Don't know why I thought that

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Member of the Nutters Club but I think I am just there to make up the numbers

                            • The ones I sowed didn't show so rather than chuck the compost away I used it to pot up a few canna lilies which were slightly pot-bound....so imagine my surprise when I found this in three of the pots yesterday! Obviously my trombos needed company! Perhaps with the heat forecasted to come back I may get a teensy trombo or two yet

If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

                              • Sid is struggling today in the heat. He had nine litres of well water for breakfast, but he's still having a hard time. I haven't told him that temps are due to rise later this week and we'll be into the 40s (ºC, that is). Nights will also be warm, around 25 ºC, so not much respite for him, or for us for that matter.
