I have now ordered my seeds for next year as I doubt if I will be growing normal courgettes after trying trombos I really prefer the firmer texture that they have and far tastier when pulled young

Once you've grown one, you're hooked.
Are you all ready to choose your most outstanding Tromba for the Competition?
You can choose your own category - like Heaviest, Greatest Girth, Longest, Funniest or anything you think appropriate - that sums up the character of your Tromba.
We'll work it out as we go along.

While on holiday I have been busy planning where to plant my trombos next year and have decided to put them in the flower garden, so when the garden dries out again I will be digging a trench at least 2ft. deep and will fill it with the contents of my compost bin, and over this I will erect a climbing frame for the trombo to scramble over, not sure whether I will plant something (veg wise) low growing at the base or plant my flowers, though I think it will be flowers, but the growing season it quite a bit away just now so a bit of time to change my mind several timesit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

May I introduce Big Richard please?
I can't extricate him from the wire netting without a surgical operation and, I fear, he would not be quite as impressive with his end cut off.
Since he's still putting on length and girth I haven't measured him but I did grip him firmly to give you an idea of what he has to offer. As you can see, he's a proper handful.

Very good VC but it depends how big a hand you have, I require Xlarge gloves and I can't get my hand right round mine
By the way how do we cast our votesit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Sitting here thinking about this years growing of trombos, as I have said I will be growing them again next year, I have also recommended them to friends, but on reflection they seemed to slow down when the weather went back to "normal" could anyone tell me if there is a minimum temperature for growing them?it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
