  • Square foot under glass

I'm wanting to try square foot gardening under glass. I have an 8' x 4' frame which could give me 16 squares. Could this be a feasible proposition or am I barking mad ? Has anyone had any success with this type of setup ? Height wise I would have 2' at the rear and 1' at the front above the box.
    I live in hope !

What are you going to do with the other 16 squares?

A nice part of the country, apart from the cement works

As above, 8 ft by 4 ft results in 32 squares.

Should work fine for anything growing flat or downwards. Don't think it would work for things growing upwards eg peas, tomatoes. But you can easily find growing heights of most veg.

Brassicas are out, I think - from a height point of view, 2' isn't enough, and also temperature, being cool weather crops I think it'd get too hot for them

Just prop the lid up/remove it, when its summer. - otherwise, everything will be cooked anyway!

              Oops! Should have said 8' x 2'.
