  • Advice - attaching fleece to raised beds

    Hi All,

Beds are erected, filled with border muck/compost, coir and riddled topsoil. Hoops attached made from electrical conduit. Fleece attached at top of hoop with conduit wall connectors attached to a horizontal piece of 25x50mm timber at 90 deg to the hoop.

    So far so good!

So how to secure at the base/junction of the raised bed?

I had planned to fix down the entire perimeter with timber either screwed down or weighted down with house bricks however this all looks either to permanent or possibility of blowing off.

Idea 2 is to group the ends together (thereby pulling the length taut ) and then fixing a cable tie around it and then fixing to the bed. The sides could then be fixed down with a length of timber secured to the bed with a couple of bulldog clips.

Question is how does everyone else tackle this?

I find house bricks are invaluable for holding down netting or fleece and can easily be lifted off whilst being heavy enough not to blow away.
