  • frozen chillies

So it's chilli seed sowing time again, and I've not got as many packets of seeds as I thought I had! Seems I must have binned a load for being out of date.

I have quite a lot of chillies in the freezer from last year, so have extracted seeds from them and sown some, and the pots are in my heated propagator.

What do we reckon are the chances of them germinating??
    Are y'oroight booy?

One way to find out, a lot depends on the variety I think, chillies being sort of sub tropical, I doubt they have come across frost before.

I seem to recall checking this out a few years ago for someone and if I recall correctly , in theory the shouldn't germinate, but occasionally they do.
        As burnie suggests....go for it!

Your chances are very high Vince. I've tried that this year for the first time with my scotch Bonnet. They germinated better and quicker than anything else.
