    Good growing companions
They can both be used in
    Stews and Casseroles.
    Eaten Raw
    Shredded in Salads
    Made into Soup
    Incorporated into cakes/Scones
    Virtually grown year round

I'm sure theres something I've missed.

    That's really difficult!
I've changed my mind 3 times, just while I was reading your post.
    Chillies and tomatoes
Both because there's hundreds of different varieties to choose from.
    Both are great on pizza
You can make sauces, chutneys, soups, salads. The list is endless.
I may be back later with another two

This would be different to my two favourites, two staples that we really would miss would be tomatoes and potatoes, my favourites would be sweetcorn and onions.

Tomatoes and chillies for me......no question, not just because you can’t buy the varieties in the shops. Tomatoes are pretty inedible from the supermarket, usually hard and tasteless, and the varieties on offer aren’t very exciting.

                          Sprouting broccoli definitely. Garlic.
If fruit counts then raspberries and black currants.
