If You were only allowed to grow 2 types of Veg...?
Carrots and tomatoes - took me about 1 second to make up my mind!

This would be different to my two favourites, two staples that we really would miss would be tomatoes and potatoes, my favourites would be sweetcorn and onions.
The latter would be good ( although you dont state why.)
The former , unfortunately do not class as 2 veg.

I have carrots because they are my favourite veg and potatoes because I can't buy most of the varieties I like in the shops (and if I can they don't taste as nice).

Courgettes just because they're such amazing looking plants, and so productive.... and because the fruits (yes, fruits!!) are so versatile in the kitchen.
Kale because the season is so long, there's always something to eat from the plot if you grow kale.
Good answer Snadge , but was hoping for a bit more 'Specific' like .:
You could have a plot full of different species of Greens and leeks ,Onions,Garlic etc .
The question was...which 2 ..??
