found the spuds whilst demolishing old compost bin.. guess there was a warm corner they could overwinter in - if only I could work out how to reliably recreate that - some sort of challenge perhaps!

ah no - thanks 4shoes - they must be Red Duke York - haven't grown the others... was about 2 or 3 years ago so they've hidden themselves well....

- Seems I can grow bigger than usual Red Duke for February cropping - though I am MOM

Definitely not pink fir, the potato I first thought of when seeing the photo was Kerrs pink, have you ever grown or bought them?. But what ever type of potatoes they are its a good crop at any time of year let alone winter
