To start with, if the soil is cold, chit your seed in side in a plastic box then sow when the roots start to show. Depending on the size you want you may need to thin your seedlings after they start to grow. Don't let the soil dry out too much in the summer.
BTW beetroot leaves make a good addition to a stir-fry.

sow seed direct aprox middle march,when ground has warmed up a bit,plant seed separatly aprox 3in apart,cover and keep moist,this way no thining is needed,another way is,put 2 seeds per modual for an earlier start,plant out when ground and weather suitable,some peeps have transfered individual plants,and had great results,sigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these
