Oooh Snoop - it was that same post on Leslie Land's site that started me growing it too!
I really loved it, it's so tasty, and the roots are big. Nice to see them on Masterchef last night.
SP if you want some seeds let me know. I've got an open packet too. Also from Thomas Etty, who have now moved to Kent. Had a lovely chat with Richard at Seedy Sunday this year - I traded some oca tubers for the beetroot seed last year.

Sparrow you're a star . I'd love some seeds please. Message me your address I'll send you a stamped addressed envelope. Is there anything you're missing that I might be able to send you?
Thank you sparrow
I had no trouble growing it, and I think it was about 80% germination. But I've always found Thomas Etty seeds to be brilliant. Theirs are the only Fish chilli seeds I've got to germinate, and I tried 3 other suppliers.
I would grow to save seed from them, but I really struggle to find somewhere that's isolated from all the ruddy chard that people leave to flower.
I have some really nice beets overwintered (not crapaudine) and am thinking of sneaking them into Mum's garden - it's 1/4 mile away from 2 sets of allotments though and I know that's not isolated enough - bet that wouldn't stop cross pollinating.

Eeh, LD (channelling my Auntie Florrie from Newcastle here, so you've got to get the accent right), I do like you!

Lottie we can compare notes on samurai carrots as well . I grew them for the first time last year. Only got about 3 usable ones the rest bolted. This year they're on their last chance .
I must admit I did have to rewind the TV a couple of times last night because I couldn't quite believe the name of the beetroot
