The Shelf Life of Manure and Weed Tea.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone knows what the shelf life is for the above Tea’s after it’s bottled up?

Does it deteriorate with age as I’ve just found a bucket that I filled with weed and topped up with water apps 7 months ago (daren't open it and sniff yet!).

Also still have some bottled Manure Tea that I did about 9 months ago.

The creation of this wonderfully smelling concoction has already rotted it. I don't think it can go off any more than it already has. I have juice that I made two years ago and it smells no worse than when I first bottled it, and I still use it

^Just guessing: chemical contents will still be there, but any bacteria are likely to be dead for lack of nourishment.

What you have is an anaerobic solution with very little aerobic activity along with a significant loss of microbial diversity. Also prevalent are unwanted alcohols and pathogens.

I recommend you consider Actively Aerated Compost Teas (AACT).

The costs are negligible!

Aeration is for 24-36 hours.
Fish tank pump or pond oxygenator is required.

My pump is only 4 watts (320 lph). On an average tariff it would cost 2.2 pence to run a 4w pump for 36 hrs.
