I grew mine from seed a couple of years ago and they are still a year from the cropping stage so I've been growing them in pots and over wintering them in the greenhouse and they started sprouting over a month ago and now most are about a metre high ferns? Having said that, a couple came through thick so I snapped them off and ate them. They were delicious
I've got a bed where they are going to live permanently and I'll be planting them there shortly.

Mine are up and had one serving so far. Interestingly the later varieties were the first to poke their heads out and the earlies are still in hidingFollow my grow and cook your own blog

This year just staring to sprout now. On has two ‘proper’ thickness stems the two others just breaking ground but looking thinner.
This years crowns had planted in troughs for last two months so I could protect them from water logging in the snow and rain under the car port. Planted in plot Sunday with sharp sand (plot is clay so was far far to wet to even contemplate until now) but five out of six had signs of shoots and new roots.
