  • what potatoes are these?

    Hi,

I harvested the last of my potatoes today - and came accross a row of definitely not charlottes. Wonder if they were left over from last year?

They are thin and a bit like a really big bit of root ginger. I was wondering if they were pink fir apple?

Would be gratefull for any suggestions. (hope people can follow the link)

Sorry I can't see your pics, Queen of the Cobs. The description sounds a bit like Pink Fir Apple. Did you plant some of those ?????

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

damn - thought they were shared...it says they are.

Well, I didn't plant any pink fir, but they look like that to me too - just a bit more knobbly.

Could they be 'anya' potatoes? Like pink fir but normal potato colour, they are like root ginger.

Were they definitely potatoes? Not jerusalem artichokes? (very knobbly) Mind you they would have growth from them.....

Thats what I love about gardening, finding the unexpected!
