When using capillary matting, where is the best place to position the water reservoir, sitting higher than the mat or sitting level or positioned lower than the mat

The matting should be a little higher than the reservoir - if it is the other way round, then it will siphon all the water out . -
Thanks Nick, I have set it up that way but thought it better to check, just in case I had made a mistake, but don't tell VC I thought that that was possible
