  • Turnip Spacing (For Greens)

If growing Turnips (purely for their greens) in a raised bed, how much space would you recommend leaving between plants. I am planting fully grown turnips, not from seed.

I would say about 6ins apart. BUT if you are replanting fully grown turnips they will produce rather tough leaves and will bolt quickly. You would be better to sow a row or two of turnip seed. Let them grow and progressively use the thinnings until you are left with well spaced plants and then either let them develop into turnips or not as the case may be. I assume you want the leaved to eat and if you do it this way you will finish up with really nice tender leaves.
