Hello! First year attempting to grow veg and have been lucky enough to get a large 2nd hand greenhouse. I have all female cucumber plants to plant in greenhouse and also cucumelon seedlings... after reading conflicting advice online, i'm not sure what to do..... it says to not put all female cucumbers in same greenhouse as male/female cucumbers... so should i not have all female cucumbers with cucamelons?? Am i better off getting only male/female cucumber plants? I have 3 gherkin seedlings that i intended to put in greenhouse but reread packet and says best grown outdoors and not near all female cucumbers? So now a bit lost and wondering if i should avoid all female varieties? (Only have 1 plant so far that is a ll female) and would the gherkins not do well in greenhouse anyway? :/ thanks in advance!

I'm not sure never having grown them myself, but I think the idea with all female cucumber plants is that they can be bitter if pollinated by other cucumbers. Obviously I don't know how important this is but it occurs to me that if you put them in one corner of your GH and then use fine net or fleece hung as a curtain you could minimize the chance of x-pollination happening.
All the plants you mention like humid and warm growing conditions, so obviously its easier to give them those if they are inside.

If they’re female only cucumbers they can produce a male flower when they’re stressed, cut it off of a female variety only. I’d put the gherkins & cucumelon outside (I think the wind movement helps with pollination of cucumelon,I think someone mentioned it on here years ago, someone might know?) & have the female cucumbers inside. I’d love a greenhouse to be able to grow female cucumbers like telegraph & carman,as mine are outside I cant grow them,Ive tried in my house but get spider mite all the time. Mini cucumbers like diva are good outside thoughLocation : Essex

I would keep the gherkins outside.....the all female cue will keep hou in cucumbers all summer. Cucumbers are really the only F1 seed I buy. After growing all white cue in the GH that had both male and female flowers that produced 1000’s of male flowers and some very bitter cucumbers i’ll Never go back.

I've grown the all female varieties cucino and mini munch outside and not had any problems, but maybe nobody has one with male flowers nearby.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy
