Hi,
Just registered today after finding this site.
I have a thing about tomatoes.
"You can never have too many tomatoes" is my motto. Fresh, tinned, all sorts.
Anyway, I've been growing toms for a few years now in pots in my small garden in west Dorset. Always have Ailsa Craig on the go as they are reliable and tasty with sometimes others which haven't been so good. Best was seeds from Portugal a few years ago.
This year tried some different ones too, Tigerella, Cour di Bue and Ildi and they all seem to be doing well.
After reading all about toms for a couple of days I decided to concentrate on English heritage varieties only(as far as I can work out) and some rare ones at that so the ordering commenced.
Essex Wonder, sort of remember these as my mum grew them on our allotments.
Cavendish
Golden Sunrise
Red Robin
Outdoor Girl
Stonors Exhib
Harbinger
Super Marmande
Tangella
I just wanted to taste more old fashioned tomatoes and maybe some won't be great but I'd like to try and keep some good ones going.
Any views of course welcome.
