  • First sign of blossom?

    Hi all,

I'm going to ask a really dumb question so please excuse my ignorance

On the back of Chilli Focus it says:

    1. Young Plants - Seedlings onwards:
    2. Onset of flowering - first sign of blossom:

How do I know the "first sign of blossom"?

I've attached a pic of my plants.

You have blossom/flowers so they've reached "onset of flowering".
I'd say a flower bud would be "onset".

So you think I should start feeding them the stronger dose then?

Best you wait for someone who grows chillies and uses C. Focus to advise you. I don't do either!

            Thanks Scarlet

They are Dorset Naga plants. I did use LED grow lights when they were smaller to give them a boost but stopped as soon as they grew a bit. Do you think that gave them a boost?

Lights don't really boost plants, but they do stop them from growing "leggy". Once the natural levels of light are high enough the lights are no longer needed, we use the lights to extend the period of growing rather than boosting growth.

It does get chillies growing earlier though....chillies not started with lights are generally several weeks behind. Chillies need a long growing season and during Jan, Feb, March they definately benefit from light....there's not many other plants that I would use lights for....

If you don't mind me asking greenman, where did you get your Naga seeds from?

Sure, I got the Bangladeshi Naga Morich seeds from Sow Seeds and the Dorset Naga from Chilliking.
