  • Last Years First Early Potatoes

I have a few of last years first early Swift potatoes which were must have got left in the ground from last year and are growing very well. What I wanted to know is if they are likely to provide any potatoes to harvest? I have not done anything with them like earthing up or feeding.

    Does anyone know?

    Best regards,
    Greg

They will, but keep a close eye on them as they can carry diseases over from year to year, even if they looked perfectly healthy last year.

Yep, I know them as volunteer potatoes. If I have space I tend to let them come up and tend to feed and water as and when I get round to it. They normally give a smaller crop but still useful if you have the space.
