How many Courgettes, squashes and cucumbers have you picked in 2018
I've lost count of my pickings by now as we're constantly fetching something.
The strawberries don't last past breakfast as the 2yo wants to pick them each morning around 7am!
We've had six Zipangu cucumbers, which are less watery and crispier than 'normal' cucumbers.
Had a couple handfuls of runner beans, a handful of purple beans, and we've not got the petit pois more than a couple of inches away before they're all gone.
As for courgettes.....you know they say germinate, give half away and then half the plants left...well we had an area of free soil this year and no time to do much with it.
20 courgette plants later, and we have this a day. To be fair as we do make good use of at least 2-4 a day ourselves, but we can't even give enough away to family!
This year, I grow: Tondo chiaro di nizza (round courgette), orelia F1 (yellow courgette), summer crookneck (summer squash) and tromba - will count them all as courgettes.
So, so far, courgettes: 3
Cucumbers are flowering like mad, I expect first fruit soon.
Starting From Monday, I have cut 2 courgettes from 1 plant on the plot and I've been getting a small sized cumber every day from one of the 3 greenhouse plants.
