Courgettes: 1. An actual courgette that grew on a plant. That I planted. And not one that got to 2 inches long and then rotted and fell off because apparently it didn't see the point of growing flowers of both sexes AT THE SAME TIME. Nor one that got to 3.5 inches and then mysteriously rotted. A proper, glorious comedy-p****-shaped actual courgette. I thought it would never happen.
I'm still suspicious of the concept of gluts of courgettes though, because I've tried to grow them on and off for about 4 years. This one I've grown successfully has brought me to an average of one fruit per six plants. Or £9 each, not counting the compost or planters.
