There are all sorts of moths that eat various sorts of veg, herbs etc. They seem very good at getting under mesh too - I removed 2 small green caterpillars from my brokali the other day. It had been in the house or under an insect mesh net all its life.
I have seen several silver Y moths at the allotment and in the garden recently and I suspect they are the culprit - they eat almost anything.

Strange silvery marks on mint leaves
For the life of me I just can’t understand why my basil, mint and lemon balm plats very quickly develop a silvery, paper thin mottling on their leaves as if being eaten from the inside. As well as all my other pests I now have this, anyone know what it is, and how to stop it ?
I suppose a good start would be cut back all the leaves
