Don't look like serious plant-eating bugs, so I reckon I'm going to go with a soil problem of some kind, either not the right nutrients or possibly more likely, someone-else tipping stuff in there when you weren't around.

VC, they're also known as thunder bugs, don't ask me why. They usually appear in the autumn though when the wheat fields are being harvested. These on my beans look a lot like thrips to me but they aren't bothering the leaves at all, in fact, other than where the sparrows have pecked the leaves there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with them other than the colour change.
