I think I’m at the point where I need to top off my aubergine plants and chilli/pepper plants.
But I’m not sure where abouts to make the cut.
Could some one advice. I’ve tried looking on the internet but it’s not very clear

Only advice I can give is don't do it.
I'm sure someone will be along soon, who will actually help you.

      RHS reckon
"Pinch out the tops of peppers when they are about 30cm (12in) tall to encourage lots of branches."

hmm - that seems quite tall to me... - I'm a struggler with chillies though - so you need to see what an expert like SP might have to say
      sigpic
1574 gin and tonics please Monica, large ones.

If you pinch out the tip of a chilli plant it will start to bush out - BUT it will delay fruiting. If you are growing in a GH you may still get a good crop, it's a good option if you are thinking of overwintering it and are going for a good shape. On past experience with lots of us here nipping out the tip with the hotter varieties meant that we had a very small yield. I don't bother anymore.

Ahhhh, ok. Thank you! I will wipe that off my list for tomorrow then.
I didn’t do it last year to my chillis or peppers and got really good crop
But this year at least 3 or the chilli/pepper plants are well over 12 inches tall. And the aubergine are just over 20 inches. Will they stop growing of their own accord?

What variety of aubergine are you growing?

I'm trying aubergines this year but they are no where near 20inches more like 8 inches 😭😭😭

They're looking good Carly. I'm growing Moneymaker aubs again and don't pinch out the tops. Mine grow much better in pots in the greenhouse compared to the ones in the lotty tunnel (green budget tunnel). The greenhouse plants are bigger and stronger and are just setting fruit.
