  • Do mice eat cauliflower?

I'm finding something is eating the centre shoots of my cauliflower plants. It's not bird damage as they are covered with a net and it shouldn't be slugs as I've liberally sprinkled slug pellets over the whole bed. No slimy trails either. I've come to the conclusion that it may be mice eating out the sweet new growth.

The bed is next to my compost area and just over the fence from a shed on a neighbouring plot where mice have been seen in the past.

Has anyone else had this problem and am I likely to be correct in blaming mice.

    Suggested remededies would be appreciated.

I have had mice eating sprouts before so I wouldn't be surprised. The only way to stop them is a mouse trap (use peanut butter as bait)

Mice will eat anything, even thier own young, so it feasible.

I have one of these walk in mousetraps which I baited with the last mouthful of my Lidl's icing covered doughring. Oh how I grudged that
