That did this damage, their smaller cousins maybe but what else could have done this ?, no trails just half a cabbage munched.

A wide bite, could it be Roe Deer? look for foot prints or droppings close by.

Hi sorry should have given more info about other possible culprits.
No thats not me vc :-)

Only other possibles would be squirrels, no bunnies that ive seen and deffo no deer.

Is it a munch out of the side or the top? I can't quite tell.
Just wondering whether it has split rather than been munched. I've had some that have been about to bolt and just seem to split in half.

Not going to be a rat. If it had been a rat, you would have found a scattering of chewed up bits lying round the head. They also tend to taste, leave for a bit and then eat more if they are not ill.

                  Clever wee ******!

Sure any 2 legged animal not pulling your leg

I wondered about splitting.... I'd expect to see droppings and a smell of rat wee if it had been a rat, it must have been working on that a while?

Don't tell the handsome chap but he looks like one of those garden buddhas.
Could it be a badger muncher ?

Obviously damaged.......I'D SUSPECT GROWTH SPLIT MORE THAN ANIMAL/RODENT ATTACK......Rats usually Crap for every 1/2 mouthfuls,.....any sign of that....also RAT ATTACK leaves quite clear teeth marks ....the photo seems to show a wider split without signs of gnawing.
