turnips and watering

  • turnips and watering

    I was thinking about watering my turnips but in the past iv'e noticed they sometimes split after watering, I know that if you start watering spuds youv'e got to keep watering them otherwise they split ! are turnips the same ? any thoughts on this please?

    I always thought they split through lack of water?

        That's my turnips and swedes. I could be wrong mind but i was always under the impression that they split due to a lack of water.

          Thanks Scoot ,I went up the plot today and gave them a bit ofwater along with everything else ,I'll give em a bit more tomorrow ,if this weather keeps up i'll have to water my pink fir apple spuds they are late in coming up with hardly any foliage! atb Dal.
