  • So many types of leaf miner

Well I am absolutley astonished at how many different types of leaf miner I am getting on many of my plants and crops. Nasturtium, borage, honeysuckle, kale, chard, beetroot, sorrel ( red and green) cherry tree, to name but a few. Has anyone else got so many different types ? All I can do is pick of the leaves and destroy them.

I'll be honest, I never notice them!!

This UK site describes 619 different species. Hope you don't have them all, Marb

You've forgotten my personal favourite - the allium leaf miner. That'll put pay to your onions, shallots, garlic, spring onions, chives and leeks.

I’ve got leaf miners in my borage but that’s all,it’s the first time I’ve seen these here,I haven’t removed any leaves I’ve been peeling the transparent bit of leaf & squashing the things except that was weeks ago, there’s more now, what do they want with borage only? I feel like they’re a nice leaf miner leaving everything else alone?

How could I forget those - or forget noticing them.
