  • Too late to sow sugar snap peas?

My onions are out of the raised bed, and im planning on mixing some fish blood and bone and growing sugar snap peas?

    Is it too late?

Peas do not like to feel the hot summer sun so they are usually planted in spring when all frosts have passed to be harvested before the hot summer arrives. However I should think you could sow them now and have a successful harvest but bear in mind the hot summer sun —sow them in a semi shaded area where they are not burning in the hot afternoon sun. If your raised bed is in full sun all day perhaps you could provide artificial shade in the afternoon.

Without very frequent watering they will get powdery mildew, so don't think it is a good idea in this weather. Even with daily watering my snap peas have been poor this year
